Description

I am using Fairphone Open OS on Fairphone 2. I installed Import Contacts from FDroid after downloading a .vcf file created on my previous phone HTC one X by selecting 'export contacts as a file'.

During import I had to babysit otherwise the app would abort if an error were encountered with screen off. I could 'continue' and imported over 1100 contacts.

When done, all the information was there, but names were separated from email addresses and phone numbers. Fortunately I was able to join many easily because emails and numbers were stuck together, but I had to use my old phone to identify and rejoin many orphaned numbers.

Possibly HTC is to blame :-)

Steps to reproduce this issue

May be hardware specific or relates to Fairphone Open OS Contacts app

Hi. So, so sorry about the delay in responding! I had TBG misconfigured so it didn't notify me when you created the issue!

I've actually had a few people report this behaviour now (via email), but have been completely unable to reproduce it on 3 real phones and in the Android development environment's emulator. So I guess the next step is to try harder to reproduce it!

Thanks for taking the time to report this!

Also, I noticed there was a separate issue, which I've filed as bug 3.

I am having an Issue that I think is related to this.

Firstly I am having this issue, but also 2 less contacts get imported that exported.

I can reproduce this so I will send you a logcat soon.

Hi,

If you'd be willing to send me the vCards (privately, of course), I could run them through the software in a debugger to see what happens. Or, if you can narrow it down to a single contact that fails to import properly and appears as separate contacts, that would be great!
